J Admin Mobile! (JAM!) allows you to manage many of the core features of your Joomla site remotely. Developed primarily for the J Admin Mobile! iPhone application, it's a free GPL plugin meant to be used, and extended, by any application developer that would like to use it!

The JAM! plugin works using the Remote Services capabilities of Joomla 1.5 and provides the following remote management features:

Installation instructions:

• "Enable Web Services" must be set to Yes. This can be found in "Site->Global Configuration" under the "System" tab in the Joomla administration backend.
• Install the zip file as normal using the Joomla Installer
• Configure the plugin. There are minimal options for the usertype to allow remote access to your site and which plugins to load (legacy, system, or none).
• Enable the plugin.
• Hit the road!

Change Log for plugin:

v1.4.1 - Fixed bug where new articles that are set to show on the front-page, don't show on the front-page. Previously, you'd have to create an article, save it, and then edit it and set it to the front-page and save again.

v1.5.0 - Added functionality for delete articles, sections, categories, menus and menu items. Fixed bug with modified date when saving articles.

v1.6.0 - Added functionality for "start publishing date" and "finish publishing date" for articles.

Here are my recommendations:
1) Add a PIN to open the App
2) Allow Site Global Configuration Management (At the very least allow Taking the site online/offline.)
3) Allow Sorting of Sites within JAM! (ie: Alphabetically)

THE Joomla Admin tool for the iPhone/iTouch. I've used it over the last 45 days and it has turned into a tremendous time saver, especially in case of emergencies. Sometimes clients hurt themselves and we have to clean up after them :). Although this App is focused on Sections/Categories/Articles/User/Menu Management, I see huge future potential. Kudos CovertApps!

good program to blog, not really an admin tool. i was expecting to be able to actually edit most features and instead am finding that it mostly can just add sections, categories, and the articles. you cant create menu items, though you can create a menu, but cant do nothing with it. kind of mad i wasted ten bucks when you can edit all those features in safari from the iphone
