I love the App and it is very useful! One recommendation though, can you add a PIN to open it on the iPhone/iTouch? It's too much power to be left unsecured. Kudos on an awesome product!

Others have suggested this and we plan to look into it when we doing our next big release in February. If you want to vote for it to move it up the list, that will make sure we give it priority:

As the release of Joomla! 1.6 grows closer, we are getting more and more questions asking if J Admin Mobile [iTunes Link] will support Joomla! 1.6.

The short answer:  OF COURSE!

The long answer:  There is a lot of consider.  We want to take advantage of and include any new features that will come with Joomla! 1.6 while continuing to allow JAM to work with Joomla! 1.5 sites.  The xmlrpc functionality in Joomla! 1.6 will be changing, so this will take some time to make sure the plugin continues to work.

So, what's the timeline?  Here is a page with status on the core Joomla! 1.6 project:

http://www.joomla.org/component/content/article/5252.html

Future Release Predictions

It is impossible to give a definite time for future releases of Joomla 1.6.  Our best "guess" for the availability of future versions is late March 2010 for Beta 1 and late April of 2010 for the first stable version.  The ability to deliver at these times is directly proportional to the amount of volunteer help the project receives.

We will not be looking into anything until at least Beta 1.  Once Beta 1 is released, though, we will try to get something out for people to test.  We will post again to this blog with status updates new developments occur.

Would you like to be able to upload images, write articles, and administer your Joomla! website from your Android device?  If so, we need your input!

We are considering porting the very popular Joomla! Admin Mobile iPhone application to Android.  If this would interest you, please vote up the Android version on our User Voice page:

http://jadminmobile.uservoice.com/forums/15365-general/suggestions/225416-make-an-android-version

We use User Voice to determine priorities, so the more we hear from you Android users, the quicker it will be on our radar.

Thanks for your help!
